Portrait of Three Sisters
Set to Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in C Minor, Portrait of Three Sisters is a 30 minute contemporary story ballet which reveals a family dynamic.
Revisiting the imaginary fairy world of her youth, Lucia depicts herself and her two younger sisters as they leave childhood behind and grapple with the complexity of adult relationships. Portrait of Three Sisters rides the energy of Rachmaninov’s vivid score, floating between pantomime, complex phrase work, and grounded and physical expressions of struggle.
